The story कथा
Shree shukadev jee bole, "he raajan! raaja bali ke raajy mein daity, asur tatha daanav ati prabal ho uthe the. Unhen shukraachaary kee shakti praapt thee. Isee beech durvaasa rshi ke shaap se devaraaj indr shaktiheen ho gaye the. Daityaraaj bali ka raajy teenon lokon par tha. Indr sahit devataagan usase bhayabheet rahate the. Is sthiti ke nivaaran ka upaay keval baikunthanaath vishnu hee bata sakate the, atah brahma jee ke saath samast devata bhagavaan naaraayan ke paas pahuche. Unakee stuti karake unhonne bhagavaan vishnu ko apanee vipada sunaee. Tab bhagavaan madhur vaanee mein bole ki is samay tum logon ke liye sankat kaal hai. Daityon, asuron evan daanavon ka abhyutthaan ho raha hai aur tum logon kee avanati ho rahee hai. Kintu sankat kaal ko maitreepoorn bhaav se vyateet kar dena chaahiye. Tum daityon se mitrata kar lo aur ksheer saagar ko math kar usamen se amrt nikaal kar paan kar lo. Daityon kee sahaayata se yah kaary sugamata se ho jaayega. Is kaary ke liye unakee har shart maan lo aur ant mein apana kaam nikaal lo. Amrt peekar tum amar ho jaoge aur tumamen daityon ko maarane ka saamarthy aa jaayega.
"Bhagavaan ke aadeshaanusaar indr ne samudr manthan se amrt nikalane kee baat bali ko bataaya. Daityaraaj bali ne devaraaj indr se samajhauta kar liya aur samudr manthan ke liye taiyaar ho gaye. Mandaraachal parvat ko mathanee tatha vaasukee naag ko netee banaaya gaya. vaasukee ke netr se netan(raajapurohit) ka udbhav hua. Svayan bhagavaan shree vishnu kachchhap avataar lekar mandaraachal parvat ko apane peeth par rakhakar usaka aadhaar ban gaye. Bhagavaan naaraayan ne daanav roop se daanavon mein aur devata roop se devataon mein shakti ka sanchaar kiya. Vaasukee naag ko bhee gahan nidra de kar usake kasht ko har liya. devata vaasukee naag ko mukh kee or se pakadane lage. Is par ultee buddhi vaale daity, asur, daanavaadi ne socha ki vaasukee naag ko mukh kee or se pakadane mein avashy kuchh na kuchh laabh hoga. Unhonne devataon se kaha ki ham kisee se shakti mein kam nahin hain, ham munh kee or ka sthaan lenge. Tab devataon ne vaasukee naag ke poonchh kee or ka sthaan le liya.
"Samudr manthan aarambh hua aur bhagavaan kachchhap ke ek laakh yojan chaudee peeth par mandaraachal parvat ghoomane laga. He raajan! samudr manthan se sabase pahale jal ka halaahal vish nikala. Us vish kee jvaala se sabhee devata tatha daity jalane lage aur unakee kaanti pheekee padane lagee. Is par sabhee ne milakar bhagavaan shankar kee praarthana kee. unakee praarthana par mahaadev jee us vish ko hathelee par rakh kar use pee gaye kintu use kanth se neeche nahin utarane diya. Us kaalakoot vish ke prabhaav se shiv jee ka kanth neela pad gaya. iseeliye mahaadev jee ko neelakanth kahate hain. Unakee hathelee se thoda sa vish prthvee par tapak gaya tha jise saanp, bichchhoo aadi vishaile jantuon ne grahan kar liya.
"Vish ko shankar bhagavaan ke dvaara paan kar lene ke pashchaat phir se samudr manthan praarambh hua. Doosara ratn kaamadhenu gaay nikalee jise rshiyon ne rakh liya. Phir uchchaihshrava ghoda nikala jise daityaraaj bali ne rakh liya. Usake baad airaavat haathee nikala jise devaraaj indr ne grahan kiya. Airaavat ke pashchaat kaustubhamani samudr se nikalee use vishnu bhagavaan ne rakh liya. Phir kalpavrksh nikala aur rambha naamak apsara nikalee. In donon ko devalok mein rakh liya gaya. Aage phir samudr ko mathane se lakshmee jee nikaleen. lakshmee jee ne svayan hee bhagavaan vishnu ko var liya. Usake baad kanya ke roop mein vaarunee prakat haee jise daityon ne grahan kiya. Phir ek ke pashchaat ek chandrama, paarijaat vrksh tatha shankh nikale aur ant mein dhanvantari vaidy amrt ka ghat lekar prakat huye." dhanvantari ke haath se amrt ko daityon ne chheen liya aur usake liye aapas mein hee ladane lage. Devataon ke paas durvaasa ke shaapavash itanee shakti rahee nahin thee ki ve daityon se ladakar us amrt ko le saken isaliye ve niraash khade huye unaka aapas mein ladana dekhate rahe. Devataon kee niraasha ko dekhakar bhagavaan vishnu tatkaal mohinee roop dhaaran kar aapas mein ladate daityon ke paas ja pahunche. Us vishvamohinee roop ko dekhakar daity tatha devataon kee to baat hee kya, svayan brahmagyaanee, kaamadev ko bhasm kar dene vaale, bhagavaan shankar bhee mohit hokar unakee or baar-baar dekhane lage. Jab daityon ne us navayauvana sundaree ko apanee or aate huye dekha tab ve apana saara jhagada bhool kar usee sundaree kee or kaamaasakt hokar ekatak dekhane lage.
Ve daity bole, "he sundaree! tum kaun ho? lagata hai ki hamaare jhagade ko dekhakar usaka nibataara karane ke liye hee ham par krpa kataaksh kar rahee ho. Aao shubhage! tumhaara svaagat hai. Hamen apane sundar kar kamalon se yah amrtapaan karao." is par vishvamohinee roopee vishnu ne kaha, "he devataon aur daanavon! aap donon hee maharshi kashyap jee ke putr hone ke kaaran bhaee-bhaee ho phir bhee paraspar ladate ho. Main to svechchhaachaarinee stree hoon. Buddhimaan log aisee stree par kabhee vishvaas nahin karate, phir tum log kaise mujh par vishvaas kar rahe ho? Achchha yahee hai ki svayan sab mil kar amrtapaan kar lo."
Vishvamohinee ke aise neeti kushal vachan sun kar un kaamaandh daityo, daanavon aur asuron ko us par aur bhee vishvaas ho gaya. ve bole, "sundaree! ham tum par poorn vishvaas hai. tum jis prakaar baantogee ham usee prakaar amrtapaan kar lenge. Tum ye ghat le lo aur ham sabhee mein amrt vitaran karo." vishvamohinee ne amrt ghat lekar devataon aur daityon ko alag-alag panktiyo mein baithane ke liye kaha. Usake baad daityon ko apane kataaksh se madahosh karate huye devataon ko amrtapaan karaane lage. Daity unake kataaksh se aise madahosh huye ki amrt peena hee bhool gaye.
Is tarah devataon ko amrt pilaakar bhagavaan vishnu vahaan se lop ho gaye. Unake lop hote hee daityon kee madahoshee samaapt ho gaee. Ve atyant krodhit ho devataon par prahaar karane lage. Bhayankar devaasur sangraam aarambh ho gaya jisamen devaraaj indr ne daityaraaj baali ko paraast kar apana indralok vaapas le liya.
Bhagavaan kee is chaal ko raahu naamak daity samajh gaya. Vah devata ka roop bana kar devataon mein jaakar baith gaya aur praapt amrt ko mukh mein daal liya. Jab amrt usake kanth mein pahunch gaya tab chandrama tatha soory ne pukaar kar kaha ki ye raahu daity hai. Yah sunakar bhagavaan vishnu ne tatkaal apane sudarshan chakr se usaka sir gardan se alag kar diya. Amrt ke prabhaav se usake sir aur dhad raahu aur ketu naam ke do grah ban kar antariksh mein sthaapit ho gaye. Ve hee bair bhaav ke kaaran soory aur chandrama ka grahan karaate hain.
